Vanni presents Decò collection
Making their debut at Vision Expo East in New York City are the first 12 models in the new 'Decò' line by Vanni: metal and acetate made with a new 'inlay' technique on multilayer sheets.
'Decò' by Vanni is inspired by the original designs of the famous architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh who was one of the founders of the Art Nouveau movement and was the first to study the concept of comfort applied to architecture and furnishings.
'To design the new collection' explained Nico Chief Executive Giovanni Vitaloni, 'we started with Mackintosh's idea of the environment as a total work of art. The most difficult challenge was to apply this concept to eyewear in such a way that it would harmonize with the shape of the face, but at the same time create a recognizable product with a strong personality'.
All the multilayer sheets used for the acetate temples are exclusive combinations made by Nico-design for Vanni in 6 color variations with laser designs based on Mackintosh's graphics.
