'Best of Adventure Gear' Award for Smith
For the second year running, Smith Optics has won National Geographic Adventure's prestigious 'Best of Adventure Gear' Award for its leading-edge products.Smith Optics' Interlock technology was chosen out of thirty-nine other products that a selected group of experts described as 'essential articles for outdoor activities'.
The criteria applied by National Geographic Adventure magazine differ from those of other publications in that an independent panel of forty-four representatives is selected from the main bodies and national retailers who specialize in outdoor activities. They judge the products that, in the eyes of the expert, are innovative, essential and have inspired special interest on the market.
The Interlock model received the 'Best of Adventure Gear' Award thanks to its futuristic technology, excellent functionality and the demand created following its presentation to the market.'Smith's Interlock model has an attractive design, lenses that are easy to change, very precise and extremely strong once they have been put in place. Announced at the Adventurer of the Year ceremony in Washington D.C. in November, Interlock appears in the November-December number of the magazine. At the previous edition of the prize, SMITH received the same recognition for its V Ti high-performance sunglasses which have a single, very light lens made from two different titanium alloys for extreme lightness and adaptability.
