United Colors of Benetton kids collection

United Colors of Benetton kids collection

Together, Allison and Benetton have created an eyewear collection with the United Colors of Benetton label for kids from zero to twelve years. A revolutionary union that transforms an item that can be annoying into an object that kids want.

Model BB002Vision glasses

First and foremost, color: a palette of unlimited enchanting colors shade on shade, in bright contrast, in multiple combinations. Colors taken from the irresistible must-haves of childhood: candies, ice cream, cotton candy, kites, pastels. Transparent or matte, polished or satin-finished.
If the colors are enchanting, the technology is convincing, starting with the materials: rubber that's soft or hard, biocompatible, non-toxic and, above all, strong; it's shockproof, drop-proof and twist-proof (they open up to 180°), and it stands up to the clumsy, distracted handling typical of tiny tots. For older kids, there's plastic, acetate and metal. Ingenious technical solutions mean that they adapt to face shapes and growth: interchangeable hinges in three lengths, curled adjustable and rubbery end pieces, nosepieces in very soft rubber that won't leave a mark or irritate the skin.
If the technology is convincing and the colors are enchanting, the combination with design is the clincher. Round, square or oval frames with flex or forked temples, with glitter, decorations, symbols, inserts in different materials, layers of color inside and out, stripes, shading and, lastly, for bigger kids, quotes from the adult world.

Sunglasses

The sunglasses collection is just as fantastic. The glamour of an object that's worn almost solely because of that is combined with the technology of specific lenses for developing pupils.
Starting from the colors - smoke only for zero to four-year-olds, up to six colors for eight-year-olds up - combined with protective mirroring, scratch-resistant treatments and UVA and UVB filters. Meticulous attention to lens shapes: from round and perfectly central for tiny tots, older kids can be allowed off-center shapes.
Passing from technology to style, the Sun collection is up-to-date design, fashion, cheerful colors, creative patterns, infantile decorations and sometimes the desire to play at being 'grownups'.
Vision and sunglasses to be worn with panache and no tantrums. Kept in pouches of colored fabric inside appealing tin containers that can also be used for other things. From what only a child's imagination can invent to a moneybox suggested by the slot in the top.
An elephant with glasses is the collection's mascot and it will be talked about. But that's in the future.
