The Ministry of Economic Development has given its influential approval awarding its sponsorship for the second edition of the event 'Il futuro dell'ottica, tra impresa e professione (the future of optics, from the industry to the profession', promoted by Assogruppi Ottica. The meeting, planned at the 'Fiera del Levante' in Bari on 25 and 26 February, adds another prestigious sponsorship, besides those already received from the Region of Apulia, the Province of Bari and the Municipality of Bari.

However, although important, it is not the only innovation of a date that aims to take a considerable step towards a complete and radical opening for all of the key players of the optical chain. Other important updates involve the work program.

The organizers have gained the active participation of the Ministry of Health, with Mr. Paolo Messina (a Member of the National Commission for Lifelong Learning) as a speaker, who will make his contribution on Monday 26 on Continuing Medical Education.

The second session, on Sunday 25, will open with a speech on advertising in the optical sector by the lawyer Annamaria Stola, an expert in administrative law specializing in the field of health. This will be followed by a report on comparative advertising, by the lawyer Fiammetta Malagoli, the legal adviser for UNICOM (National Union of Communication Companies). There will also be a series of video interviews aimed at consumers, conducted and realized by a team from the RAI, to analyze the current level of satisfaction of end customers.

Finally, the morning of Monday 26 February will include a first part reserved for businesses in the optical industry to present their new products, and then a session for analyzing the subjects anticipated the previous day, including the controversial issue of advertising for medical devices in the sector of optics-optometry, illustrated by Ms. Valentina Fossa, a representative of the General Management of Drug and Medical Devices of the Ministry of Health.
