The Carrera Ski Racing Team ends an exciting season

The Skiing World Cup 2006/2007 ended this weekend in Lenzerheide in Switzerland. It was a difficult season because of the weather conditions, but packed with excitement for the Carrera Ski Racing Team!
Therese BorssenSeveral victories were achieved in the various downhill skiing disciplines: excellent positions were achieved in every special classification by the athletes, wearing Carrera's masks and helmets on the top steps of the most prestigious podiums.

The Swede Jens Byggmark who stood out in the downhill skiing disciplines climbed onto the top step of the podium a good two times, triumphing in the Slalom competitions that were fought out on the snow in Kitzbuehel in Austria on 27 and 28 January. The Swedish athlete won third place in the special classification, with 490 points.

Excellent results were also achieved by the Swiss Marc Berthod, who took the gold medal in the Slalom in Adelboden in Switzerland on 7 January finishing second in the final classification of the Super Combined, with 202 points.

Among this season's unforgettable victories we must also include the gold by the Austrian Hans Grugger in the Super-G on 11 March and the first place won by the Austrian Michael Walchhofer in the Bormio downhill on 28 and 29 December. And of course we must not forget the victories by the Italian Manfred Moelgg, the vice world champion of special slalom, who ranks among the best slalom racers in the world, coming third in the final special competition, which was battled out yesterday, Sunday 18 March in Lenzerheide.

Excellent results were also achieved in the women's competitions with the Swede Anja Paerson, the queen of the World Championships in Åre, who triumphed in the Super-G in Lenzerheide on 15 March and won a silver medal in the Slalom on 17 March, while the Austrian Andrea Fischbacher came 2nd, winning the second podium of her career. Excellent results were also achieved by the Swede Therese Borssen who won the gold medal in the women's Slalom in Semmering in Austria on 29 December.

The Austrian Christoph Bieler who gave a great performance in the men's Nordic Combined classifications collected a good three gold medals: on the snow in Norway in Lillehammer on 3 December, in Ramsau am Dachstein in Austria on 16 December and finally in Val di Fiemme on 13 January. Excellent results were also obtained by the Austrian Felix Gottwald, with a gold medal in Oberstdorf in Germany on 6 January and in Seefeld in Austria on 20 January.
