Success for the new Eyewear Museum structure

Success for the new Eyewear Museum structure

The new Eyewear Museum was opened only one month ago but it's already possible to assess its popularity rating among tourists and locals.

Personalities from the worlds of culture, national, regional and local politics, historians, entrepreneurs, eyewear operators, tourists, the inhabitants of Cadorno but, above all, a lot of young people, a phenomenon that was unusual for the old museum at Tai di Cadore.

Opened a month ago in the center of Pieve di Cadore, a few meters from the house where Titian was born, the inauguration of the new structure was widely covered by both local and national press.

An in-depth look at the eyewear district and the new museum appeared on the UNO MATTINA program on the RAI 1 network August 23, 2007, which also interviewed the president of Assindustria Belluno, Valentino Vascellari, and the museum's curator, Laura Zandonella.

This success is due to the choice of location, the type of architecture and the creation of a first rate scientific itinerary that enhanced the museum's rich collection.

These strong points did not escape the visitors, who showed their appreciation by writing down their comments: 'I cannot find enough words to congratulate you', 'The historical layout, the anthropology, the setting and the photographs are extraordinary!' were just some of the messages that were repeated by numerous visitors.

The next stage is to raise awareness in the schools in the province and in the Veneto area. They will be invited to use a teaching itinerary and a laboratory especially designed for students.
