Rudy Project wins 5000 meter with record-breaker Fabris
Enrico Fabris, twice Olympic champion at Turin 2006, set the new 5000 meter world record for speed skating on ice. An excellent performance by the policeman from Roana (Vicenza) at his seventh World Cup victory and his first for the 5000 meters, which he won in 6'07"40, 8-hundredths less than the previous record and ahead of Sven Kramer from Holland and Harvard Bokko from Norway.
To compete in the World Cup at Salt Lake City, Fabris chose the new glasses from the SportMask Performance 2008 collection by Rudy Project, streamlined and wraparound technical glasses that are so light you forget you're wearing them. Ultra-flat temples, a wide, wraparound one-piece lens to guarantee distortion-free side vision and a frame fitted with front spacers that improve ventilation and prevent fogging.
With these successful characteristics, Fabris, who also has a European record, is ready to take up the new challenges which will see him star at Calgary (Canada) in the next few days.
