Rudy Project Sailing Team on the podium at Latium World Cup 2007
The great sailing show has a new star: the Rudy Project Sailing Team. Competing for the first time, the Treviso company's crew gained the 3rd step on the podium at the Latium Match Cup.The competition held at Fiumicino from September 11 through 16 is the sixth stage in the International Sailing Federation's (ISAF) prestigious World Match Racing Tour. For the event, which boasts the participation of the America's Cup team and top- ranking skippers, worldwide, and has a format similar to that of the America's Cup with boats of the same type, Rudy Project put together a crew of extraordinary sailors: Sten Mohr from Denmark, the helmsman on BMW Oracle in the America's Cup 2007, Jann Neergarrd, mastman and grinder in the same crew and winner of the America's Cup with Alinghi in 2003, and Mikkel Rossberg, the trimmer on Desafio Espanol.
The new team wore the ultra-new Zyon Sailing glasses in the Rudy Project 2008 collection. Designed especially for sailing enthusiasts, they not only guarantee maximum protection but also high performance, thanks mainly to the ImpactX photochromic lenses with a special polarizing formula that allows onboard instruments to be read easily and clearly.
