Nicole Hosp and Briko triumph in the World Cup
The downhill skiing world cup 2007, which ended last weekend, sees the victory of Nicole Hosp in the overall classification, winning not only the World Cup, but also the specialty (Giant Slalom).
This season Niki made a good 4 wins and 8 podiums securing the most prestigious prize. Niki dominated and dethroned her opponents in the last two competitions: first place in the Slalom and Giant Slalom.
Second place instead for Benjamin Raich in the men's final classification. His exit in the Giant Slalom dashed his hopes of repeating last season's success. Nonetheless, Benni didn't let up: he dominated his opponents with a clear lead right from the first round in yesterday's Slalom.
His win in the Slalom, however, was not enough to make up for the mistakes on the previous day. Raich takes second place in the overall classification and is the leader in the Slalom specialty cup.
Bode Miller finishes 4th in the overall classification; an excellent third place for him in Saturday's Giant Slalom and victory in the Super G specialty cup.
Peter Fill ends the season in sixth place, with Mario Matt ahead of him, in fifth place.
