New Timberland collection again takes inspiration from nature
The new Timberland S/S 2008 collection features the warm colors of the unspoiled forests of North America. Once again, nature is the muse that has inspired the new frames that combine the importance of crafted details.
The men's collection includes polished and satin-finished metal, acetate and combos. The shapes are basic, linear and sizes are modern. Square and pilot frames and, for the first time, wraparound frames.
The classical pilot has been revisited in multi-layer milled acetate to create double thickness on the temples and bridge, which is enhanced by contrasting colors.
Leather is the big star when it comes to details: a sweatband on the double bridges, a temple enhancer - with the double stitching that is a characteristic of the brand - or a fine cloth with a screen-printed logo.
Like the frames, the lenses are in the woodland colors of dark green, smoke brown and burgundy. A new addition is the flash-effect lens.
There are three frames for women. In acetate they are large, square with beveled corners and there is also a version in transparent plastic. Colors are mainly dark, with the exception of two more 'glamorous' models in white.
The wood theme is 'softened' in the version for women, where it decorates the temples and has a slight veining effect.
Model TB2057
A collection outsider, this frame in transparent acetate is outside the Timberland box with a new rimless lens and centrally rounded temples attached to the front piece by a small metal rod. Available in transparent brown, white and lacquered black.
Model TB2065
Pilot model for men in extremely light metal with the original touch of a removable leather sweatband with a stamped logo. The very slim temples have thicker end pieces in acetate.
Model TB2061
Two-color milling is the feature that makes this drop model unique and gives the surface of the front piece and temples a 'stepped' effect. The famous encircled oak tree logo is discreetly inserted in the center of the front piece.
