New CEO and Director General for Marcolin S.p.A.

The Board of Directors of Marcolin S.p.A., at a meeting presided over by Giovanni Marcolin, resolved to co-opt Dr. Massimo Saracchi as the new CEO of the company. At the same meeting the Board also passed resolution on the appointment of Dr. Saracchi as Director General, with effect from 10 December 2007.
Massimo Saracchi, aged 49 - we read in the press release - boasts a curriculum that spells success. Trained in the marketing sector of Procter & Gamble, in the role of Vice-President he developed various European businesses of the company, and on behalf of P&G also successfully managed the Fater S.p.A. Joint Venture. From 2002 to 2007 he was the CEO of Unopiù, consolidating the European leadership of the company in the outdoor furnishing sector.
Dr. Saracchi was co-opted to replace the former CEO and Director General of Marcolin S.p.A., Antonio Bortuzzo, who resigned during the meeting from the positions held within the Marcolin Group. The resignation takes immediate effect for the position of Director and CEO, while in relation to the role of Director General and the offices held in other companies of the Group, it will be effective from 31 January 2008.
Giovanni Marcolin, President of the Company, commented on the appointment: 'I am convinced that the entry of a top manager such as Dr. Saracchi will allow us to boost further expansion of Marcolin's business the world over as a producer of high-quality eyewear in the luxury bracket.' Diego and Andrea Della Valle, the Marcolin family and Luigi Abete, the leading shareholders of the company, expressed satisfaction at the appointment, which strengthens the Marcolin team and guarantees having the right man at the helm of a company with major potential for development.
