
New appointments at Transitions Optical
Transitions Optical, world leader in the technology used to manufacture photochromatic lenses, continues its international growth and entrusts its future development to a new Management structure.
Tommaso Faiella, the current head of the ophthalmic and specialist sector at Transitions Optical Italia, has been appointed as its new Business Director for the Mediterranean area starting October 1.
In his new role reporting directly to the Group's Top Management, Faiella will be responsible for strategy and development in all Mediterranean area countries and will coordinate the structures which operate in these markets - many of which are undergoing rapid expansion.
Tommaso Faiella joined Transitions Optical Italia in September 2002, where he has worked in a number of different positions including Trade Manager and, later, Business Manager before this new appointment. He is responsible for the rapid rise in popularity of the Transitions™ brand with opticians and of setting up meetings with leading specialist medical institutions in the sector to discuss issues of collective interest such as healthy vision and protecting eyesight.
Tommaso Faiella comes From Emilia Romagna, has a daughter and a degree in sociology, and has worked as a manager in companies operating in the scientific, technological and consumer markets. He opened up the Chinese market for GMT - leading Italian company in the clothing sector - and was employed as the Head of the Ethicon (Johnson & Johnson) Trade and Marketing Sector.
The experience he has gained in the ophthalmic sector combined with his in-depth knowledge of international markets have brought him to this new appointment, where he will pursue its objectives, reconfirming Transitions Optical's leadership position in the photochromatic lens sector in Mediterranean countries.
