Livestrong eyewear for Oakley and Lance Armstrong
Oakley and Lance Armstrong have launched a special limited edition of two sunglasses models - 2000 pairs per model - which will contribute to the efforts of the foundation created by the famous cyclist. For every pair of Oakley's LIVESTRONG™ RADAR™ and FLAK JACKET™ sold, $20 will go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation which supports cancer sufferers.'Oakley has been alongside me for almost 20 years, with and without my bicycle' commented Lance Armstrong, who recovered from cancer and went on to win the Tour de France no fewer than seven times. 'Now, with the support of the brand and everyone who values the performance of Oakley glasses, we can help to change things for the millions of people living with cancer'.
'We are honored to collaborate with Lance Armstrong on such a noble cause' said Oakley Inc. president Colin Baden. 'He beat cancer and he was able to win the Tour de France sevens time running. Lance is a survivor, a great athlete and an icon for the millions of people who are fighting cancer or have recovered from it'.
To create the special editions of LIVESTRONG™, Oakley's two new high-performance sunglasses models were chosen, RADAR™ and FLAK JACKET™. They are in yellow and black, Lance Armstrong's colors and those of his Foundation, and they have 'LIVESTRONG' laser-engraved on the lenses.
The special LIVESTRONG™ editions of Oakley's RADAR™ and FLAK JACKET™ glasses have High Definition Optics® (HDO®) for unparalleled optical sharpness. They are also the first glasses in the world with an innovative water-repellent coating that was patented by Oakley and makes them resistant to water stains, oil and dust.
