Glasses that waken you up

We've all had moments when we're so tired we can't keep our eyes open.

It happens in the office, in front of the computer screen, during a long and boring meeting, when studying at night, at the theater or, much worse, when we're driving a car.

Our eyes refuse to stay open, slowly our head drops forward and at that point, the need to sleep has got the better of us. Unless of course you're wearing a pair of MyDo Bururu, the glasses that help to keep you awake.

Marketed by Japan's Vision Optic, MyDo Bururu is nothing less than a pair of normal glasses fitted with a sensor. It records head movements and the wearer is woken up by vibrations that run along the temples to the ear.

To prevent activating the vibrations when you're awake, the sensor can be set to operate only when the head is at a certain inclination.

This isn't a new product however. A project for the development of glasses against sudden sleepiness while driving was started by researchers at the University of Genoa's center in Savona as long ago as 1996.
