First Roger Vivier boutique in Italy to open in Milan
The Tod's Group company, which ended the first nine months of 2007 with 155% growth of 12.2 million euros, will inaugurate the 250-square-meter store during Women's Fashion Week in February.
The first Roger Vivier flagship store in Italy will be inaugurated to coincide with Women's Fashion Week in Milan. The location chosen for the boutique is an 18th century palazzo on Via S. Andrea (formerly Palazzo Casadei) in the heart of the fashion quadrilateral. In addition to a sales area of over 250-square-meters on three floors, it will have a showroom, the company's Italian offices and a private room for receiving international celebrities.
The fifth Roger Vivier monobrand store to be opened following those in Paris, London, Hong Kong and New York, it is part of a brand development plan which will continue throughout 2008 (see MFF, November 28, 2007). «There had to be a Roger Vivier in Milan, which is without doubt one of the international capitals of fashion and good taste», artistic director Bruno Frisoni explained to MFF. «We are proud to open in a location in the heart of the city where we will seek to recreate a corner of Paris in pure "Vivier style": original, eclectic, French and international at the same time'.
In this regard, the collections will alternate with furnishings chosen to recreate a Parisian ambience with the addition of works by contemporary artists. Like works of art in a gallery, shoes, bags, small leather items, eyewear and jewelry will be displayed in plexiglass niches set into the walls. A satellite company of the Tod's Group, the French brand is synonymous with luxury and elegance and it had a dazzling turnover in 2007: the first nine months ended with billings of 12.2 million euros (+155%).
