Base Curve Appoints Industry Sales Veteran

Base Curve, the Los Angeles-based luxuryeyewear company, is pleased to announce theappointment of Mike Papineau, to Sales Director,Western Hemisphere. In this position, Papineau willoversee the sales of both Carolina HerreraEyewear and John Varvatos Eyewear in the US,Canada and Latin America.

Papineau's 14 years in the eyewear industryhas included work as an Account Executive andNational Sales Director, managing the US saleseffort of several eyewear providers. Most recentlyhe served as the National Sales Director for luxurybrand, Alain Mikli. 'Mike's strong knowledge of the high-end segment of the marketcombined with his valuable relationships will be instrumental in successfully buildingBase Curve's brands,' said Steve Horowitz, Base Curve Executive Vice President.The Carolina Herrera Eyewear and John Varvatos Eyewear collections debutedin Spring 2006, and are currently available through high-end retailers and specialtyboutiques. Both brands recently introduced new optical and sunglass styles at VisionExpo West.

John Varvatos, who was recently awarded the prestigious Council of FashionDesigner's (CFDA) 2005 'Menswear Designer of the Year' award, is noted forincorporating a unique blend of vintage details and modern silhouettes to his appareland accessories. His collections are available at Neiman Marcus, Barneys New Yorkand Bergdorf Goodman as well as his signature boutiques in New York, Los Angeles,South Coast Plaza, Short Hills, and Las Vegas.

Carolina Herrera, the 2004 CFDA 'Womenswear Designer of the Year', has longbeen praised by critics and a favorite of fashion influencers like Jacqueline Onassis,Renée Zellweger and Reese Witherspoon. Carolina Herrera is known for glamorous,sophisticated and elegant style. Her designs are available at exclusive retailers such asBergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus as well as her signature boutique on MadisonAvenue.
