Rudy Project on the Dakar podium

Spectacle and adrenalin all the way to the last stage were a feature of this edition of the Dakar rally. The protagonists of the motorbike section were teammates Marc Coma and Cyril Despres, who came first and second in the classification. Another success for the Frenchman who is now confirmed as one of the world leaders in motocross.

Both riding KTMs, Despres and Coma competed with no holds barred on a route that bristled with hazards and difficulties, starting with less use of GPS.

On the Argentina to Chile race that skirted Bolivia and the borders of Peru, Cyril Despres chose Klonyx MX, the Rudy Project goggles that guarantee clear vision and maximum protection against the blinding sun of the South American deserts and plains. A range of different lenses give protection from the brightest sunlight and include those more suitable for conditions when vision is critical.

To guarantee bikers maximum comfort and, as a consequence, concentration during the race, the lenses are fitted with a handy “tear off” system that gives clear vision at all times without having to clean the lens. The nose protector is also indispensable for preventing burning and for protection against the elements.
