Registration Open for the EAOO 2012 Meeting
Offering a combination of learning styles, EAOO said the conference will feature keynote presenters Pablo Artal, a professor at University of Murcia, Spain, speaking on adaptive optics with a focus on new research, and Dr. Kathryn Saunders of University of Ulster, U.K., speaking on clinical practice in relation to pediatric care.
Workshops, held at the Dublin Institute of Technology, will support the development of practical skills, enabling attendants to gain experience that will help in day-to-day situations and come away with essential skills to implement in practice. Poster presentations exploring a range of research areas will also allow for networking opportunities, EAOO said. Delegates will interact and network in their individual areas of expertise in the discussion forums, sharing ideas and exploring major industry issues in small groups. Special interest group forums are also available for those EAOO members interested in areas of Binocular Vision; Optical Education; Primary EyeCare; Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technology; and Community Eye and Vision Care Services, the organization said.
The annual dinner will be held at the Croke Park Conference Centre on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The evening, complete with an informal drinks reception and a three course dinner, is being held in collaboration with the Association of Optometry Ireland.
In addition, EAOO is calling for oral and poster abstracts and proposals for sessions that include clinical workshops, educational and clinical case-studies and discussion forums that focus on education, general eyecare health issues in Europe and continued professional development and lifelong learning. The deadline for applications is Nov. 30. They can be submitted online or to Martin Cordiner abstracts@eaoo.info.
