Polaroid Eyewear debuts in 3D world with RealD

Polaroid Eyewear and RealD Inc., the leading supplier of 3D technology for cinema, consumer electronics and professional applications, recently signed a license agreement for the launch of new 3D glasses with curved lenses, Polaroid Premium 3D Eyewear.

Under the terms of the agreement, Polaroid Eyewear will release its new Polaroid Premium RealD 3D line to top level opticians’ stores. Polaroid Eyewear Premium 3D will also be compatible with all RealD 3D screens, worldwide. "RealD is keen on working with a brand like Polaroid that has a very important technological heritage behind it ", said Joseph Peixoto, chairman of Worldwide
Cinema at RealD. "Polaroid Eyewear Premium 3D promises a wide range of frames with precise curved lenses. Audiences will be able to fully experience RealD 3D technology with a clear field of vision and a pair of glasses that suits their personal style."

The launch of the Polaroid Eyewear collection features a series of interesting projects that will meet the needs of all audiences. People who wear prescription glasses will also be able to choose from a range of 3D lenses that will fit perfectly into any frame. And there’s also a frame that’s right for kids!
Polaroid Premium 3D Eyewear has a UV filter so that it can be worn also in natural light, without the risk of damaging the eyes.

"Our brand focuses on technical innovation, style and attention to the budget", said Polaroid Eyewear chairman Andy Suszko. "This agreement with RealD is an acknowledgment of the high quality of our 3D lenses that is made possible only by our ThermoFusion™ Technology, the same one used for the collections of sunglasses we have been selling successfully throughout the world for years. We are pleased to be associated with RealD and look forward to working closely with them and their technological partners, and to penetrating the consumer electronics field with 3D technology."
