A living legend: the classic P'8478 in two new sizes
Designed by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, it was the first eyewear with the Porsche Design label and one of its major successes: the exclusive P'8478. The style of this eyewear has remained unchanged since 1978, the only difference is the technological material now used to make it – ultra-light titanium. The mechanism for replacing the lenses was, and still is, revolutionary and guarantees adaptation to different vision needs and light conditions. Initially, these elegant pilot models were for male consumers because of the sizes available (L and XL), but now they are available also for women in the new M and S sizes. With four calibers and in four different colors, the P'8478 is the classical eyewear that is now suitable for any face.
Honeycomb: technological innovation inspired by nature
Porsche Design has introduced a new collection for men with two sun models featuring a strong, lightweight structure: the Honeycomb line. And it was the honeycomb made by bees that inspired the creation of this incredibly technological eyewear. The honeycomb structure has been used for some time in aerospace and automotive engineering – two sectors in which materials must be exceptionally strong and extremely lightweight. The P'8527 model in high-tech plastic is impactful and angular. The eyewear will not slip and the sides adapt to the shape of the head, which makes it extremely pleasant to wear and stable, thanks to the honeycomb structure of the soft rubber insert. The colors of the side components aim to meet a large variety of tastes. For example, the gray-orange color combination is particularly aggressive and the honeycomb structure can be seen through transparent temples. By contrast, the matte black version featuring an insert in soft brown rubber is more discreet and subtle. In all variations, the shield color is perfectly in tune with the rubber insert.
Aerodynamic eyewear: maximum functionality and unmistakable style
The style of the two new sun models, P'8516 and P'8517 (in the picture), is inspired by the wind tunnel tests used by the automotive industry. Both models feature an innovative combination of top quality materials, such as titanium for the front piece and plastic for the temple components. The antireflection-treated and shockproof polycarbonate lenses make this model extremely comfortable and safe, even for the most dynamic sports.
Porsche Design Woman: a new model purists love
Model P'8525 is the ideal continuation of the first collection for women that was successfully launched by Porsche Design at the start of 2010. The shield frame with particularly slim temples has a hidden stainless steel support and a slightly inward curving upper bar, an exclusive design feature that refracts light and gives the model a particularly dynamic look. The frame has no screws so it can be worn on top of the head without any problem. Model P'8525 is available in four different colors: olive-gold, matte havana-gold, red-gunmetal and matte black.
