New arrival Federottica BAT takes first steps

Set up in November, the new provincial office of Federottica represents the provinces of Barletta, Andria and Trani.
The general meeting appointed president Giovanni Pansini from Canosa di Puglia, vice president Carlo Di Pilato, provincial secretary Giuseppe Pistillo and manager Carmine Faggella. The other members appointed to the Board are Antonietta Di Bari, Angelantonio Pappalardi and Antonio Lagrasta.

The establishment of the BAT provinces of Puglia as an association makes them a full-fledged member of the most important and representative federation of professionals in the optics and optometry sector.

The Board immediately set out a framework of guidelines for the association, the primary aims of which are to provide information and updating about the characteristics of ophthalmic products, and progressive lenses in particular. Other initiatives will begin with the “Bimbovisione” project, which aims to deal with the bad habits acquired by schoolchildren that are frequently the cause of excessive eye strain.

Federottica BAT colleagues also intend to begin a public information and educational campaign about two specific subjects: the purchase of off-the-shelf eyeglasses for simple presbyopia and frequent replacement contact lenses, in order to emphasize that optometrists are qualified professionals who provide technical advice about choosing and using these two products.
