New appointments at Silhouette
The eyewear made by Silhouette International of Linz is known and sold in over 100 countries: an undertaking that requires a well-organized sales structure that is now headed by Gregor Dietachmayr (46). Born in Wels, Austria, he spent a good part of his professional life at Fischer Ski, where he was managing director for over nine years. At Silhouette International, his task will be to acquire new markets and also strengthen the company’s position in its current markets.
In recent years, Gregor Dietachmayr worked as a freelance business consultant. As International Sales Manager he will manage 13 subsidiaries, mainly in Europe and the USA, and the sales division team at Linz. In addition to the organization of international sales, the new Sales Manager will be responsible for monitoring sales and for decisions aimed at defining strategic partnerships for the distribution of the Austrian company’s products. With the support of the sales division’s Area Managers, he will also be the interface between the markets and the central offices at Linz.
He will report directly to company co-owner and president Arnold Schmied, who heads the Marketing, Sales and Planning divisions.
“For the position of International Sales Manager it was important to find a person with all-round experience, expertise in brand management and the ability to interact with other divisions for quickly recognizing and responding to market needs. We are pleased that we have found the person we were looking for in Gregor Dietachmayr, who has 360-degree preparation and many years of experience on important brands,” stated Arnold Schmied when expressing his satisfaction with the new Sales Manager.
“This new position is a challenge for me as it implies the further development of a traditional company. It will be exciting to work again with an internationally-renowned Austrian brand. My goal is to create a sharp increase not only in its presence on markets but also in sales volumes,” Dietachmayr said when commenting on his new appointment.
