Mykita and Moncler together for two exceptional models

Mykita and Moncler share certain values such as a philosophy marked by tradition and the creation of very high quality products. This is why they are working together on a project aimed at exploring a new segment of the eyewear world.
Drawing on the origins of the maker of garments for mountaineering expeditions, the collaboration between Mykita and Moncler led to the creation of two eyewear models in which design and materials take into consideration the essential features for the mountaineers of the past: lightness, durability and adjustability.

Lino and Achille pay homage to the mountains and their conquerors. These two models, designed to meet the needs of life in the mountains and in the city, are both sporty and perfect as an everyday accessory. They are inspired by the eyeglasses worn by mountaineers in the Fifties, which had rounded lenses in metal frames and leather side pieces for maximum protection from the light.

Specifically, Achille is the more innovative model of the two, with its straight top profile, large frame and original retro-futuristic look. But a large top profile and slim frame make Lino the modern equivalent of the mountaineering eyewear of the past. The look of that era is reflected in the upward tilt of the frame in both unisex models. The leather elements at the sides and on the bridge, originally conceived to protect the eyes from reflections, have now been replaced with flared frames.

One of the determining elements in the design process was Mylon, a new polyamide-based material developed and patented by Mykita after years of research. Now used for the first time to make eyewear, Mylon has all the desired characteristics: it is lightweight, extremely durable and can be adjusted by the wearer.

Condensation on the lenses reveals the Mykita & Moncler logo. The anti-fog finish inside the lenses and the external scratch-resistant treatment make this eyewear a totally reliable companion for sport.
Lino and Achille are perfect for the most daring descents and for everyday life. They are the right choice for sport and for daily needs. In addition to a box and black case, the eyewear comes with a padded “sleeping bag” pouch that makes it easier to carry.
