Low Vision Day coming soon to Milan
The Italian Low Vision Association is beginning the new year with a special day expressly dedicated to the technical treatment of cases of low vision. This topic was discussed in Milan at a meeting of members of the Association’s National Council: A. Carella (Piacenza) – P. Carelli (Naples) – B. Iurilli (Genoa) – L. Martinelli (Milan East), and Secretary-General Mario Zanzi. M. Pezzoli and E. Zagni (Bologna) were unable to participate in the meeting because of simultaneous professional commitments.
The meeting ended with the launch of such initiatives as: the Association’s contribution to the definition of various professional roles in this field, the new edition of the user’s guide “Niente miracoli, ma anche nessuna rinuncia” (neither miracles nor defeat!) and, of course, the Low Vision Day scheduled to take place after Mido 2011.
Interviewed at the end of the meeting, Secretary-General Zanzi was optimistic not only about the increasing number of patients contacting the Association, but also the numerous operators who want to include low vision in their daily activities as optometrists.
