Giorgio Borruso receives award in New York City
Once again, the collaboration between Anfao and ICE has been fruitful and a tangible demonstration of this comes from the success of “Eyewear from the beginning to the future”.
The setting for the exhibition-event held last March at Grand Central Station, New York City, where the excellencies of Italian eyewear were the protagonists, was created by architect Giorgio Borruso who received two International Design Awards, an event held every year by the Retail Design Institute.
The award ceremony on Monday, January 10 at Times Center Stage, was attended by numerous guests including famous designers, retailers, publishers, sponsors and sector operators.
Giorgio Borruso’s installation received two awards: First Place in the Pop-up/Temporary Store category, and Innovative Conceptual Design in the “Special Awards” category.
The relationship between ICE and Giorgio Borruso did not happen by chance and has been consolidated over time: “Eyewear from the beginning to the future” is the third collaboration between the award-winning architect and ICE of New York City.
As proof it its success, all the winners of the various categories will be included in a special feature in the February 2011 number of Display & Design Ideas and in the March 2011 number of VMSD (Visual Merchandising and Store Design), as well as in the popular series of coffee table books published by ST Media Group Intl.
