Colorado Show: "risate in vista"

Colorado Show: "risate in vista"

For many years CBM Italia Onlus has fought blindness and physical and psychological disabilities in developing countries. Dedicated to its solidarity projects in the south of the world and on the occasion of World Sight Day, the organization arranged a benefit evening with the customary fund-raising campaign through text messages.

The evening began with the presentation of the "Diritto alla Vista" (right to see) award that CBM has presented since 2006 to celebrate World Sight Day by recognizing and awarding institutions, non-profit entities, companies and journalists that have made a considerable contribution to preventing and treating eyesight diseases. Officially launched during the evening was the photography competition "Apriamo gli occhi 2011. Dal buio alla luce" (open your eyes 2011. From darkness to light) with the collaboration of FNAC.

The Colorado Café comedians on stage were: Paolo Casiraghi, Omar Fantini, Gabri Gabra, Laura Magni, Didi Mazzilli, Panpers, Pino & gli Anticorpi, Angelo Pintus, Turbolenti and Andrea Viganò.

The funds collected by the event will contribute to supporting CBM Italia’s projects for fighting infantile blindness in 9 developing countries where the phenomenon is most critical (Ethiopia, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, Tanzania, Bolivia, Brazil, India and Nepal). CBM doctors will now be able to perform cataract surgery on the children of the poorest families, and set up mobile clinics and screenings for the children who live in the remotest areas and are unable to get to the hospitals in the cities.

To contribute to supporting the project, from October 9 through 30 a text message of solidarity can be sent to the number 45507 from all TIM, Vodafone, Wind, 3, CoopVoce, Postemobile and Tiscali cell phones, or by calling the same number from Teletu landlines, to donate 2 euros; the same number can also be called from Telecom Italia, Infostrada, Fastweb and Tiscali landlines to donate 5/10 euros.
