CNMI: new media strategy begins with the web
The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber of Italian Fashion) decided to renew its media strategy beginning with the web. On the eve of Milano Moda Donna, yesterday the Chamber launched a new version of its website (www.cameramoda.it), which aims to increase coverage and immediately exceed its current 100,000 weekly visits. The portal will include real-time photos of runways, videos, news, information about fashion houses, event calendars, and where to upload personal résumés.
For the moment, this edition of the website, which required an initial investment of 50,000 euros, will be published in Italian, but an English version is scheduled to appear in the next few days and other languages are already being considered (Chinese and Russian heading the list). New graphics have revolutionized the previous and more basic website, but there’s more. Carlo Capasa, CEO of Costume National and CNMI director with responsibility for the Internet, who was in charge of the restyling, explained “Our aim was to create a virtual fashion hub that would integrate corporate and editorial communication with special attention to young people”.
Focus on emerging talents takes the shape of a dedicated area where they can upload their résumés or find job offers. Other new additions include a timeline in the center of the homepage which highlights the shows of the moment and allows users to create a downloadable customized calendar of events.
The editorial content of the website will be updated every day thanks also to an external team of journalists and bloggers.
