Certottica: color, shape and size for a successful product
The creative direction proposed by Certottica in partnership with Agemont (Maniago) and the University of Klagenfurt as part of the Interreg DESIRE project – The design of the future, is aimed at helping companies in the Belluno area to “revive” Made in Italy, the distinctive originality that has been copied the world over, but was born and must find new strength here for recapturing markets.
After four meetings headed by architect Mario Trimarchi with eyewear industry companies in the Belluno and Treviso areas, aimed at creating genuine prototypes with innovative components and production aspects that would encourage competitiveness, Certottica organized the “color, shape and size for a successful product” seminar.
The meeting was directed by industrial designer Francesca Valan, an expert in designing colors for companies operating in the sectors of electronics, construction, sportswear and children’s apparel.
Subjects included an analysis of shape, the formal language of designer products from the Fifties to the present day, the analysis of color, the evolution of color in products from the Fifties to the present day, trends in contemporary design – scenarios that inspired new product concepts, trend scenarios and the definition of product identity, discussion and explanation of design tools and the management of color: matrixes, timelines and color charts.
