Titan Minimal Art celebrates tenth birthday

It has been successful since its presentation in 1999, when Titan Minimal Art amazed the public by not using all the elements that until then were considered an essential part of eyewear production: frames, hinges, screws and weight.

Celebrating its tenth birthday this year is the model that was a worldwide hit when it appeared on all the most memorable runways and red carpets with famous celebrities and even traveled in outer space.
Nadja Auermann, one of fashion’s most successful top models, will pay homage to Silhouette when she is photographed by the renowned Nick Knight while wearing the Titan Minimal Art Special Edition created for the event.

The shape of the lenses of the four models in the Special Edition can be described as “retro-futuristic”. The frames leave space on the wearer’s face for individuality and personality. Two lenses are specifically designed for a woman’s face and another two for male features. In any case, the four variants have been designed to guarantee maximum comfort for the wearer.

“It is important to leave enough space for the entire eye area to ensure a feeling of seeing without limitation” stated Gerhard Fuchs, Silhouette designer and creator of the four lenses that are intentionally large. The discreet luminosity obtained with a special coating on the lenses gives the face a touch of mystery: depending on the occasion and characteristics of the wearer, the gilded or silvered coating emphasizes the exclusive appeal of the Special Edition, which will be available worldwide from November 2009.

Impactful and luminous thanks to the combination of precious metals, the colors of the temples and the bridge range from “Black Shine” (a black and rhodium combo), “Midnight Gold” (black with brilliant gold on the inside) for an understated and sober look, to “Silver Shadow” and “Golden Glare”, a skilful matching of precious metals with facial features for a totally glamorous effect.
