Time for taking stock and new undertakings for Assogruppi

Time for taking stock and new undertakings for Assogruppi

The first edition of the Vision Business Forum, the exhibition and conference held in Rome September 6 and 7 with Anfao, Mido and the participation of Federottica, Assogruppi Ottica, has drawn to a successful conclusion and it is now ready to close an extremely positive and rewarding 2009.
The Association has been involved in many activities, from the fight against online sales of eyeglasses and contact lenses, to the commitment to prevent the adulteration of brands and products. Activities that have frequently been successful with the closure of some websites or areas dedicated to online sales. Activities that at other times have been painstaking and demanding and will give fruit over the years.
Thanks to the widespread monitoring of the market and products and the work of informing companies, Assogruppi Ottica has continued to weave a privileged relationship with associations and major companies in the optics sector.
The Assogruppi Ottica objective for all the actions undertaken is to be a point of reference for the associations and companies wishing to communicate with organized groups to share the commitment to quality products offered by qualified professionals. Assogruppi Ottica therefore dialogues and makes continual contact for the health of the entire sector, for the fight against counterfeiting and misleading advertising, for correct and complete consumer information and for the appropriate training of optical centers so that the whole industry works together.
With 6 years of experience behind it, Assogruppi Ottica can now say that a lot has been done, but there is a lot still to do. “At the same time”, said Association president Andrea Garagnani, “we can at last boast that the entire sector recognizes that we are the interface for dialoguing with distribution. A reliable and impartial interface that protects its associate groups, but also works for the whole segment. A recognized partner that is always committed to finding a common path and avoiding a fruitless and futile conflict of roles.”
With 900 participants and over 60 exhibitors, Vision Business Forum has confirmed the accuracy of the Association’s mission and its constant commitment to dialoguing with all the players in the sector of reference.
The promotion of a new eyecare culture through information, awareness and quality must include the exchange of ideas by all the relevant parties.
The 2010 program that the Association is currently drawing up is already packed with objectives and commitments, first and foremost the new edition of Vision Business Forum, in addition to the constant work of monitoring the market.
Assogruppi Ottica is also engaged in various roundtables, some of which began in 2009, another outcome of the consolidated collaboration with associations, groups and chains to work on the rationalization of distribution, consumer communication and advertising.
