Fashion Week began yesterday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in the former British colony. Until January 15, about 1400 exhibitors will present their fashion ideas for winter 2009/2010.
Organized by Hktdc, the event hosts brands from 23 countries and regions throughout the world, with the first-time presence of Argentina, Germany and Mexico. New additions include a section dedicated to yarns and fabrics, and new halls for the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association, the Taiwan Textile Federation and the Hong Kong Apparel Society. The World Boutique area (now at its seventh edition) will present the next cold season’s creations – from accessories to lifestyle products – from 274 Italian, French, Swiss, American, Indian, Japanese and Chinese exhibitors. Also scheduled are 14 fashion shows and various seminars and events.
