Sover, new projects for Asia
“Although the Hong Kong fair was smaller in size and had fewer exhibitors, it attracted operators from the Middle East and Asia, a hopeful sign of the upcoming development of eyewear in those areas”, commented Paolo Cannicci.
The president of Sover was cautiously optimistic about the response at the Hong Kong Fair, when Sover presented its collection of eyewear suitable for Asian facial features.
Success for the 1a Classe Alviero Martini brand, which aroused the interest of certain markets that could be considered more ready than others for distinctive designer eyewear. Also interesting were the requests for lines of personalized brands with high levels of Italian creativity for private labels: the Belluno company is ready to take up the challenge.
Despite a downturn in the first six months of 2008 (minus ten for China and Hong Kong and minus thirty for Korea), the Asian market is an area of increasing interest for Sover and it intends to set up a stable commercial structure that will be better able to intercept and translate the market’s specific requests.
