Sover: a successful brand since 1962
For next season, the Sover collection includes important new additions and expresses the strong creative impetus that the company wanted for its house brand.
New vision frames and new sunglasses for men and women are the result of a stylistic re-elaboration inspired by the vitality of the Seventies, the decade during which Sover took its first steps.
The years when Italian design led to cult objects that are still celebrated as the icons of Made in Italy. Born with quality materials and shapes as part of its DNA, the collection that now bears the Sover name expresses the concept of excellence that over the years has made the company one of Italy’s leading eyewear manufacturers.
Women sun collection
The models for women immediately convey a retro flavor with generous sizes and slim profiles. A small, elliptical decoration creates a sought-after effect of filled and unfilled paces on the temples.
Playing with colors is the leitmotif in another two models for women. The square and rounded versions are wraparound with “butterfly” accents.
The front piece and temples have been designed to combine colors and transparencies: not just classic shiny/matte black and purple/black, but also delicate color duos like lavender/peach, green/brown, hazelnut/brown.
Men sun collection
For men, the aviator models in the lightweight versions have a very simple metal front piece and double bridge; the classical version has deep, rounded lenses and an accentuated double bridge.
A return to the past with the classic vintage models of the Seventies and the wayfarer model in a classical version and a larger, more masculine version.
Colors are black and Havana as well as cardinal red, cyclamen, white on a gold ground, red on a black ground, etc.
Vision collection
The Sover vision collection has no fewer than seventeen models, five for men, seven for women and five unisex. A vintage effect for men with the classical pantos, which also comes in a more casual rectangular version.
The slim metal temples are attached to the front piece with an L-shaped joint that is also a decorative element. The colors are also classic: brown, black and Havana. Totally new solutions include a burgundy and baby blue front piece with temples in gold or palladium. Deserving of mention because of their femininity, refinement and balanced geometries, are the models with temples that conjure up the artisan workmanship of the most precious jewelry: an entwined metal wire is enhanced by a carré of rhinestones.
Minimalist design defines other metal frames with acetate temples created for men, but there is also a unisex version. The rectangular shapes have soft corners, which are smaller in the models for younger clients. Colors are classic gunmetal/blue, brown/dark brown and bright like gunmetal/strawberry or dark purple/black for the unisex versions.
Square-section temples characterize three classic models with a metal front piece and a more-or-less rectangular shape with a full rim pantos, a deep semi-rim rectangle and a lower rectangle with very rounded corners. The temples on all models smoothly join the metal front piece to emphasize a square-section silhouette with clean-cut corners.
There are also ultra-light and flexible models that guarantee maximum comfort. Metal wire is used to create rectangular shapes in various widths; the two lightweight metal wires of the temples are joined directly to the end pieces.
The latest trend in shapes and colors for women frames: models in injected plastic have a single metal element that joins the front piece to the end piece. Shapes range from oval with irregular profiles to rectangular with a suggestion of corners. Colors are illuminated by pearly shades of brown, purple, white, salmon and red.
