Safilo at the movies with “Good Morning Aman”
Successfully presented at Critics’ Week during the 66th International Film Festival in Venice, it was released in Italy Friday, November 13.
Good Morning Aman describes the friendship between Aman (Said Sabrie), a young Somali who grew up in Rome but is unable to rid himself of nightmares about his past of war and suffering, and Teodoro (Valerio Mastandrea), a forty-year-old former boxer who wants to make amends for his past. The lives of these two characters are intertwined with that of Sara (Anita Caprioli), a woman searching for a personal identity.
In their different ways, Aman and Teodoro are able to free themselves from the restrictions imposed on them by society. The movie can rightly be considered to be a “Bildungsroman” which compares the different ways of seeking a personal identity in the multi-cultural processes that are changing our society.
Good Morning Aman is produced by DNA Cinematografica and the cast includes: Valerio Mastandrea, Anita Caprioli, Said Sabrie, Amin Nour, Giordano De Plano, Adamo Dionisi e Sandra Toffolati. The actors wear Carrera sunglasses.
