Oakley Extends Support for Young Survival Coalition

Oakley, Inc. today announced that it is extending its partnership with Young Survival Coalition® (YSC), the premier international non-profit network focused on the concerns and issues unique to young women affected by breast cancer.

Oakley will release two new YSC special-edition eyewear products, unique renditions of popular designs from the successful Oakley Women's Program. The new YSC versions of Oakley Dangerous(TM) and Commit(TM) sunglasses join the currently available YSC editions of Oakley Ravishing® and Enduring®, completing a collection that benefits the ongoing work of YSC.
This is the second year Oakley has provided support for YSC and its vital mission of action, advocacy and awareness. Oakley donates $20 from the sale of each special-edition eyewear product to help support the organization and its efforts to improve the quality of life for young women facing the challenges of breast cancer.

"Oakley is honored to continue its support of the Young Survival Coalition and its ongoing mission," said Jenn Bradley, women's brand director, Oakley. "With the work of YSC, young women diagnosed with breast cancer receive the information, guidance and empowerment they need to face the most challenging chapter of their lives. Oakley is proud to be part of such a noble cause," Bradley concluded.

Oakley has also teamed up with professional beach volleyball player and breast cancer awareness activist, Michelle More, to support YSC. "Being an athlete my entire life, I have been very determined and proactive in reaching my goals," says More, 28. "It's important for women to take that same proactive approach with their health." More's grandmother passed away less than a year after her breast cancer diagnosis. "I have dreams of going back in time and forcing my grandmother to get a check up earlier," says More. "Maybe it could have saved her life."

"YSC's continuing efforts to bring programs and education to young women affected by breast cancer will be greatly enhanced by the funds raised from its partnership with Oakley," said Marcia Stein, CEO, Young Survival Coalition. "In addition to financial support from the sale of these popular eyewear products, our association with Oakley enhances our connection with young women, assisting efforts to increase awareness and empower those whose lives are challenged by breast cancer," concluded Stein.

Each new YSC edition of Oakley Dangerous and Commit sunglass is accented with a pink ribbon graphic. The breast cancer awareness ribbon is also laser etched at the corner of the lens. These eyewear designs match style with performance, and Oakley's High Definition Optics® takes clarity to the edge of a wide peripheral view with the added benefit of impact protection. Each sunglass comes with a specially designed pin, a storage case, and a custom Microclear(TM) bag for lens cleaning. Oakley Authentic Prescription Lenses are available.
