Mipel: start of 95th edition

The opening conference for the 95th edition of Mipel was held today in Milan. The event will take place March 4 through 7 at the Rho–Pero exhibition center.
A feature of this new edition will be a different exhibition layout and many fringe events that will make it even more interesting.

“Although the current time is not favorable” stated Mipel president Giorgio Cannara, “our exhibitors will be presenting even more fashionable proposals that now, more than ever, combine traditional craftsmanship, for which we are world leaders, professionalism and entrepreneurial ability”.

The restyling of the event will make the aisles in the halls more welcoming. The atmosphere will be relaxing and more like strolling along a magnificent shopping street. The idea is to make fashion a tool for dreams by providing opportunities to experience magical moments, but which also bear in mind the current difficulties on the economic scene.

This 95th edition will be celebrated with FuoriSaloneMipel, an “out-of-fair” event to be held in the Sidecar temporary store at 59/A Corso Garibaldi, Milan. Visitors will be able to buy 2009 spring/summer bags and accessories at factory prices from Mipel exhibitors and also take part in the non-profit Soloterre project, which will receive the proceeds from sales. Coinciding with Women’s Day, Sidecar will be open until March 8 and is sure to provide some additional ideas for gift.
