Maui Jim ends distribution contract with Sunglass Hut
Maui Jim marketing vice president Chris Abbruzzese announced that Maui Jim has ended its distribution contract with all Luxottica international outlets, with immediate effect.
“It was an amicable decision”, he stated. “Given Luxottica’s long-term vertical integration strategy, in recent months it has become clearer that our relationship is no longer in the best interests of the Maui Jim brand or our consumers.”
Maui Jim, the independent producer of sunglasses with polarized lenses, will continue to offer consumers a wide range of 200 products through more than 15,000 independent retail outlets and chains. Abbruzzese stated: “We will rely on our commercial partners, who include the most innovative and successful retailers in the world, to promote Maui Jim and continue to strengthen awareness of our products and services. Our future is based on a relationship of mutual satisfaction which we will continue to cultivate.”
“Our loyal customer base appreciates our Aloha style, service and the uncompromising quality of our lenses. Maui Jim customers will still be able to find their favorite models at a wide range of retail outlets”, Abbruzzese said. “For our part, Maui Jim will continue to provide superior quality assistance for its commercial partners operating in retail sales and offer them and consumers our complete range of sunglasses for men and women, with an exceptional look and leading-edge design, protection and vision acuity.”
