Luxottica presents Ray-Ban Rare Prints
Ray-Ban expresses freedom, originality and authenticity, the values at the basis of its philosophy. Designed for World War II American Air Force pilots, Ray-Bans became famous because of their very lightweight frames and special green lenses that absorbed ultraviolet and infrared rays.
The legendary eyewear worn by legends has been an icon since 1937. And just like yesterday, Ray-Ban still means quality and authenticity updated in every collection with unexpected details that decisively define an inimitable style of life.
After a year of pure and exuberant colors, Ray-Ban has launched Rare Prints, the new and brightly colored proposal for 2010. This eclectic collection is the natural development of last year’s explosion of color. There are two special series – Flowers and Subway1 – which have dedicated certificates and the collection number engraved on the temple.
Wayfarer comes in an original and decidedly artistic pattern of Flowers. Standing out among the various colors is the blue of the only model with a floral texture applied to the front piece rather than inside the frame. The Subway pattern on Wayfarer is a section of the New York City subway map and makes the icon even more fashionable and “urban”. The subway map is the 2009 copyright of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and it has been officially authorized. Starting January 2010, Wayfarer will be available also with the Subway pattern on the outside of the frame.
Stripes is the amusing new edition of Clubmaster, which has become a permanent part of the Ray-Ban world. The model comes in brightly colored variants and a style that blends a revival of the legendary Fifties and Sixties with a strong identity.
Lastly, the Ray-Ban Mania pattern is a new and fun way of decorating the Ray-Ban logo on the Wayfarer and Clubmaster models. Original and classic at the same time, Rare Prints by Ray-Ban have everything to please those who want to be distinguished by a unique style and leave an unmistakable impression.
CLUBMASTER - RB 3016

WAYFARER - RB 2140 Rare Prints Special Series
An icon since 1952, Wayfarer comes in the colors and patterns of two special series. For Flowers, four different prints on the multicolor back (black, white, blue, purpose) and one version with a print on the multicolor front piece where blue predominates; for Subway, five variants all have the pattern on the back (black, white, blue, purples, red), but starting January the subway pattern will also be on the outside of the frame.
RAY-BAN MANIA WAYFARER AND CLUBMASTER
Two of the most iconic Ray-Ban models are decorated with small Ray-Ban logos on the inside of the frame. There are two versions, one with a red logo on a white ground and the other with a white logo on a red ground.
