Intercast Europe: at Mido the press conference

Intercast Europe has partnered with Serengeti Eyewear for the production of a new polarized photochromic lens designed exclusively for the renowned sunglass brand. Built on the NXT® lens platform, the state-of-the-art Serengeti® Polar PhD™ lens features the newest evolution of polarized and photochromic lens technologies available today.

The polarizing layer of the Serengeti® Polar PhD™ lens is engineered directly onto the back surface of the lens utilizing Intercast’s Advanced Polarized Surface Technology™, thereby removing the disadvantages of conventional film-based polarized lens construction.

“When purchasing premium sunglasses, the decision of which lens material to choose has always depended on preferred performance characteristics,” mentioned Dani LaGace, Director of Eyewear Product and Marketing for Serengeti. “With our new Polar PhD technology, consumers no longer need to compromise maximum photochromic polarizing efficiency to get the lightweight, highly durable, precise optics of NXT® lenses.”

The photochromic technology incorporated into the Serengeti® Polar PhD™ lens automatically lightens and darkens with changing light conditions. The photochromic properties are engineered as part of the lens, not a coating, providing premium photochromic function throughout the life of the lens.

The Serengeti® Polar PhD™ lens featuring Advanced Polarized Surface Technology™ will be available mid April in a new collection of Serengeti® Sport and Wire Flex Series styles.
