Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti: new laws on indicating product origins

Those at the top of the Industrial Association of Belluno met Monday afternoon for the convention organised by the local Small Business Council on the issues of “Made in Italy” and indicating product origin. Two days after the publication in the Official Journal of the new Legislative Decree that regulates such issues, the Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti, thanks to the initiative of Gian Domenico Cappellaro, the president of the Small Business Council, was the first in Italy to have created such a timely opportunity to disseminate information and discuss the new provisions with businesses as part of a meeting that involved all the product sectors operating in the province and interested in the issue of indicating product origins.

Two expert guest speakers who have long collaborated with the Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti were present: Dr. Zeno Poggi, an expert in customs issues and import/export, who illustrated the state-of-the-art on legislative and enforcement levels on indicating product origins, and Attorney Chiara Luzzato of the Studio Torta, a consultant in brand names, design, and intellectual property.

At the meeting, which continued until evening, about sixty member firms participated, including large, mid, and small-sized businesses. “The topic was of interest to a wide range of companies of all sizes and operating in a wide variety of sectors,” commented Gian Domenico Cappellaro, President of the Small Business Council of the Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti, “They were provided with the latest information on legislation and the opportunities now available. Once again I wish to emphasise how the Industrial Association is made up mostly of small and mid-sized companies and therefore is particularly understanding of their needs, safeguarding the know-how and professionalism developed on the territory as competitive factors to guarantee success on international markets.”
