Certottica: training new talents

Certottica: training new talents

Certottica, by working side by side with eyewear companies and thanks to their own Training Department, has become a privileged observer in anticipating market demands and needs as expressed by the companies themselves. And that’s not all. Today, training has become the factor that makes a difference in keeping pace with the challenges presented by global market and professional dynamics.

This is the motivation behind the fourth edition of “Eyewear style and design technician” training, which establishes the objective of qualifying a professional profile coherent with corporate needs for innovation in the design sector through the figure of a technician capable of managing eyewear products throughout their entire production cycle, from market and trends analysis to the conception and selection of materials.

Following the success of the third edition, the course, in this period of crisis, is useful not only for training qualified professional figures who can perceive market changes and tastes, thereby anticipating the orientations and requests of buyers, but also in offering the world of eyewear new prospects.

Stylistic research and design are indispensable for facing international competition and can be one of the few terrains where Italian products continue to dominate. A company that intends to maintain its competitiveness on the market cannot ignore the design issue because the success of a product depends not only on its functionality, but on its aesthetic appeal as well.

This training initiative, currently taking place in Feltre at the University Campus, is now in its fourth edition, having been enriched with new ideas and updated content. It is made possible thanks to leading sector professionals, as well as through a partnership with the Fondazione per l’Università e l’Alta Cultura in the province of Belluno. This training course now boasts such a dignified and authoritative standing that the Training Department of the Veneto Region has offered a generous contribution in recognition of its accomplishments.

In February, emerging designers will complete their classroom training (424 hours) with an internship phase (300 hours) at an eyewear manufacturer. This internship is an integral component of the training project and has become a flexible tool for improving training through the real case practice, facilitating job placement projects for the unemployed who participate in the course. It is also a useful opportunity for host firms to gain fresh impulse and new ideas.
