Certottica: Conference in Treviso

As part of a corporate training program on the safety and conformity of consumer products, on November 9, 2009, the Treviso Chamber of Commerce will hold a meeting titled “The safety and labeling of sunglasses and protection devices for sport”.
The event will include a general panorama of protection devices such as sunglasses, ski goggles, and so on.

In addition to taking a brief look at the European and national regulations on protection devices and the various categories, other subjects will include in-depth discussions about EC marking, “Made in” indications and the obligations and responsibilities of manufacturers and importers.
The initiative is addressed to anyone seeking information about manufacturing/distributing reliable and legally-valid products to protect themselves from possible penalties.

The coordinator of the Certottica laboratories, Dr. Giorgio Sommariva, will be one of the speakers at the conference and he will talk about the main obligations that manufacturers must observe for the correct commercialization of protection devices.

Specifically, the subjects will cover EC marking, information leaflets, the declaration of conformity, technical data sheets and the declaration of EC certification.

The other speakers include an official from the Ministry for Economic Development and the Head of the Antifraud Office of the Veneto Customs Agency.
