Certottica at VicenzaOro

Certottica at VicenzaOro

The presence of the Italian Institute for the Certification of Optical Products at the world gold fair proves that innovation and technology are not just the privilege of specific sectors, but are the driving force behind all the economy’s production and industrial segments.

With the “Dolomiticert2” project, Certottica sought to create synergies between the Veneto’s two major production districts to enable the eyewear and the goldsmith’s districts to interconnect. Financed by the Veneto Region in collaboration with the Belluno Chamber of Commerce and the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce’s Laboratorio Saggio Metalli Preziosi, the initiative has enabled the characterization of certain material specifications and the start up of the procedures for measuring gold alloy.

The results of the project have been summarized in the brochure “What color is your jewelry? A guide for manufacturers”, which is available on request from Certottica and is a useful tool that gives information on alloy identification and characteristics.
The relationship between the Belluno eyewear industry and the world of jewelry is not new to the Institute as for many years it has collaborated with prestigious costume jewelry manufacturers and believes that eyewear is no longer solely a medical/health device, but an indisputable fashion accessory.

Research has been a guiding factor in Certottica’s consolidated experience and expertise and has allowed it to expand its catchment of users to the precious metals sector and lay the foundations for future collaborations.

To coincide with the fair, on January 15 Certottica and the Fondazione Giacomo Rumor – Centro Produttività Veneto (CPV) organized a conference to announce the results of the project in the goldsmith’s sector and present the guide with specific technical indications for manufacturers.
