Assindustria Belluno: good contacts for companies at Mido
Prudent expectations were partly warmed by a flow of visitors and clients that turned out to be quite positive, all things considered: this is how the 39th edition of Mido ended. Despite the particular global economic situation, clients responded to initial uncertainties by guaranteeing their presence at the stands.
The 33 Belluno companies in the group organized by SIPAO and the Eyewear District with the support of the Belluno Chamber of Commerce, made new contacts with buyers, especially those from Europe and the Asian and South American markets, but there were fewer clients from East Europe and America than at previous editions.
“The synergism between eyewear and the territory once again gave good results” – underscored Eyewear District representative Renato Sopracolle – “the public at the exhibition were impressed by the initiative to promote both the quality of our eyewear and the excellence of the territory in which they are created. Local products and eyewear will continue to present a united front at future exhibitions and presentations abroad.”
“Expectations before the Fair were not enthusiastic” – commented Sover president Paolo Cannici - “but in the end, many clients from abroad showed that they were interested in our creations, especially the creative niche products. We had a reasonable number of orders and it went well for the traditional brands. But there was uniform interest in all the lines proposed, from luxury to more economical products”.
The president of Trenti Industria Occhiali, Valter Da Rin, added: “We still have many problems to tackle, but we are confident. Clients have shown their interest in the new proposals, the Roberto Cabras line and new materials. Wood, bamboo, leather: we are always looking for new combinations because creativity in eyewear has no limits, there’s always something to be added”.
“The engineering companies at the Mido Tech hall had a reasonable outcome” – commented Angelo Caneve, president of the Industrial Engineering Section of Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti – “we presented the latest technologies for manufacturing machinery and components for the sector and they were well received”.
