Area returns to Spain and renews collaboration with Nova Optica, historical partner

After taking over the reins of the company, Elisio Tessaro has renewed the distribution strategy in Spain by once again working with an historical partner: Nova Optica.
Based in Palencia, Nova Optica is a company with 25 years’ experience of the Spanish market and already distributes Oliviero Contini and K:Actor.

Area looks at the future by returning to its origins. In the distribution reorganization plan for Europe, Tessaro is targeting the Spanish market which plays an important role in Area’s business: “Spain is a strategically important market for us”, stated Elisio Tessaro, General Manager of Area, “and this is why we want to strengthen our presence in that country. To give our collections great importance, Area and Nova Optica have both agreed on a growth plan for successful development in Spain”.

A distributor with tried-and-test experience, the Spanish company is having a particularly lively 2009. On December 28, Nova Optica will be celebrating 25 years of business and during 2009 the company has made a qualitative leap ahead by moving to a large new base in Fuentes de Val De Pero, just outside Palencia, which combines a beautiful residential unit with a spacious and functional commercial office.

Run by the Sendra family, Nova Optica has always been characterized by the distribution of eyewear for children and over the years it has added prestigious brands like Oliviero Contini and K:Actor. These two Area brands will begin the collaboration between the Italian company, known on the international market for its design and innovative features, and the Spanish distributor which now has 11 salespeople covering the entire country.

“Entrusting two important brands like Oliviero Contini and K:Actor to Nova Optica”, Tessaro continued, “is a return to the future since this Spanish company has always fully understood and embraced the mood of our brands and, above all, Area’s new approach, objectives and strategies”.

Thanks to the new distribution activities in Spain, Area aims to penetrate the market with constantly high-quality products and, at the same time, maintain its policy of reasonable prices.

The Oliviero Contini collection is impactful and very elegant. The refined, classical shapes of the models make them ideal for a target that wants to convey class and personality. Alongside Contini’s refinement, Area gives great importance also to the minimalist and refined design of K: Actor, the Friuli-based company’s historical brand. Updated with even cleaner and more minimalist lines, K: Actor interprets and develops the principle of the rectangle in soft, elegant colors.

Another step ahead along Area’s new route. The Italian company has always relied on dependable, successful partners who can accompany it on its path of growth.
