An evening with Zelig Ethic for World Vision Day

An evening with Zelig Ethic for World Vision Day

Thursday, October 8, the Teatro Ventaglio Smeraldo in Milan was the venue for Risate in “Vista” – or Laughs in “Sight” - a wonderful evening of entertainment and solidarity organised by CBM Italia Onlus and supported by Salmoiraghi & Viganò, with some of the best comedians from Zelig and Italian show-business, as well as important musical guests.

This year marked the eighth anniversary of Salmoiraghi & Viganò’s active support of CBM Italia Onlus in various projects to promote vision as a fundamental human right. The evening was organised for the tenth World Vision Day to promote an awareness campaign against preventable and curable blindness.

Many artists supported the event with free performances, including: Federica Panicucci and Leonardo Manera, renowned hosts, Enrico Bertolino, Diego Parassole, Teresa Mannino, Marco Della Noce, Giancarlo Kalabrugovic, and Bruce Ketta. Musical guests included Malika Ayane, Roy Paci and the Aretuska Acoustic Unplugged, and Annalisa Minetti.

“This is the first year that the show dedicated to World Vision Day was organised at Teatro Ventaglio Smeraldo. This huge theatre represents a great challenge -to introduce a growing public to the commitment of CBM Italia and Salmoiraghi & Viganò to fighting preventable blindness. We are proud to support an association like CBM, which works through numerous international projects to offer many people the hope of regaining the gift of sight. This is an ethical decision that is absolutely in keeping with our corporate identity and mission,” declares Riccardo Perdomi, Vice President of the Salmoiraghi & Viganò Group, who also intervened during the evening’s events.

Various awards were granted during the evening to those who stood out for the particular attention paid to the non-profit theme and the fight against blindness in particular. For the category “Non-profit organisations, institutions and agencies that have promoted projects for the prevention and cure of preventable blindness, visual pathologies and disabilities in the southern hemisphere and in Italy”, the efforts of the Lions Clubs International and their Sight First project were recognised. For the category “Socially responsible companies” the F.C. Internazionale Milano was awarded for its worldwide Intercampus project. For the category “Journalists, newspapers, and communications agencies who have correctly and effectively created informative and communications materials on the theme of blindness, visual disabilities, or other forms of disabilities”, the programme “Storie di confine” created by Videonews in collaboration with Retequattro and Mediafriends won the award. Finally, honourable mention and a special award were presented in memory of Candido Cannavò for his undying commitment to fighting disabilities.
