3Concept: all-around good looks

3Concept: all-around good looks

The models of the 2009 3Concept collection feature ample rounded forms to both maintain and update the sober style and original design this brand name is known for. Counting five prescription models with relative sunglasses front pieces and two models for sun only, this new 3Concept collection combines gold, silver, or black steel front pieces with acetate temples in brown, black, ivory, and tortoise for chic, sophisticated glasses that never go over the top.

Odile, Gabor, and Duke, are the most representative of the 3Concept collection, dedicated to the Dolce Vita, with important names that evoke stars of the silver screen and international jet set who have claimed a page for themselves in the history of costume during the 1950s and 1960s.

Odile, a rounded prescription model, was inspired by the beautiful French actress Odile Rodin who, in 1956, at just 20 years of age, married Porfirio Rubirosa, a charismatic figure of the Dolce Vita who lived a fascinating life brimming with loves, scandals, parties, and exotic adventures.

Gabor, oversized sunglasses in spot-on 1960s style, capture glances with soft forms that recall their namesake, the splendid Hollywood star, Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Duke is a sun model with vintage appeal and ample, rounded forms, inspired by the American Doris Duke, owner of “Duke Tobacco Inc” and the third winning and wealthy wife of Porfirio Rubirosa.

3Concept is an innovative and unique product that succeeds in combining classic forms with avant-garde technology: the brand name’s distinctive trademark is the steel bar modelled ad hoc to sustain the frame, affording models an unmistakably sophisticated design.
The bar snaps onto the acetate temples by means of a screwless technology to sustain the feather-light steel front pieces that can be changed with two simple gestures: lifting the front piece from the central base and rotating it 180 degrees to slip it off the bar.
