Silmo d'Or: Italy triumphs in the “frame technological innovation” category

With 3Momi Tech, CIDI wins prestigious award and outshines major strong companies The international Silmo d'Or 2013 appointment in Paris had one Italian winner in a category with the most formidable competitors: frame technological innovation.   The winner was CIDI of Segusino (Treviso) with 3MOMI TECH, a line of injected eyewear whose main characteristic is interchangeable metal temples by means of a patent-pending system, the result of the Treviso company's considerable expertise in this particular type of project.   The Italian company convinced the two panels at the Paris international award and outshone major strong competitors.   The Coppe brothers (photo) commented on their victory: "It's almost impossible to describe what we felt at that moment. Apart from being very emotional, winning the Silmo d'Or is gratification for all companies like ours that still believe in the technical-manufacturing ability connected with innovation, design and craftsmanship that is genuinely made in Italy".   Some details about the winner, 3Momi Tech:   1 – Manufactured in lead-free and nickel-free stainless steel, the hinge is non-allergic and since it has no screws it will not loosen over time;   2 - Friction is helped by two O-rings;   3 – The frame is made from TR90, one of the best plastic materials available, which is highly flexible and resistant to traction and shock.   The interchangeable temple system can be used on all types of eyewear with frames in metal, injected, titanium, wood, cellulose acetate, etc.
