“The Ages of Vision”: Bologna, February 10-11, 2013

The program of the interdisciplinary conference organized by the Benigno Zaccagnini Institute is now available Taking place in Bologna on February 10 and 11, the Conference will be an important opportunity to investigate the vision anomalies and defects that occur throughout a person's lifetime. They will be analyzed and presented with an interdisciplinary approach that compares available knowledge about the subject.   Speakers at the Conference will include renowned international researchers and professors of top scientific levels and Italian practitioners of ophthalmology, psychology and optometry.   It is now customary for this two-day event to be enriched by three in-depth discussions of subjects associated with the main disciplines of the conference.   Sunday, February 10, 2013 Workshop - "A comparison between teaching optometric disciplines in the UK and Italy and possible synergies in the future". The British situation will be presented by professors and researchers of Aston University, Birmingham, whereas the state-of-the-art of optometry in Italy will be presented by Anto Rossetti and Fabrizio Zeri.   Monday, February 11, 2013 Round Table of the Master Optometrist Register on "The optometrist towards self-regulations and certification". The regulatory implications and possible developments in the optometric profession will be discussed at the round table by Angelo Deiana of Colap, Roberto De Pari of AICQ-SICEV, Giorgio Righetti of Consorzio del Registro dell'optometrista Magistrale (Consortium of the Master Optometrist Register), Pietro Gheller of the Consorzio del Registro dell'optometrista Magistrale and Danilo Fatelli of Consulter.   Monday, February 11, 2013 At the end of the conference, a seminar titled "Myopia and Functional Vision Therapy" will be held by Dr. Roberto M. Kaplan.
