Recon Jet: more details about high-performance HUD glasses
The technical characteristics of the glasses presented by Recon Instruments during Google I/O Recon Instruments, a hi-tech company and leader of Heads-Up Display (HUD) applications for sport, was proud to present during Google I/O - the annual developer-focused conference held in mid-May - the first version of Recon Jet, the high-performance HUD glasses. Recon Jet easily delivers instant, non-invasive information via a microcomputer and a wide, high-resolution display. They are mounted in glasses with extremely refined lines that were designed ad hoc. Since it launched its first product for winter action sports three years ago, Recon has established itself as a pioneer of miniaturization applied to wearable technology that is accessible by the general public. With Recon Jet the company has introduced a faster, smaller and more powerful platform. Recon Jet includes a dual-core processor, dedicated graphics, Wi-Fi, ANT+, Bluetooth, GPS, HD camera and a sensor system. This makes Recon Jet an independent processing tool with connectivity comparable to a tablet or smartphone in terms of capacity. During Google I/O, Recon showed that its new Recon Jet platform is compatible with all the applications developed by the Canadian company, including: localization during activity, video streaming, web and smartphone connection and Facebook integration. Recon's SDK system allowed developers to create special applications operating with Recon Jet for any activity. The company is already working with some of the best fitness companies and communities for developing the program even further.
